In order to Addon or Park domains please perform the following steps:
- Login to your Gesatech cPanel
- Click on the "Domain Manager" tab at the top of the screen.
- Under "Action Items" click the link "Assign a domain to your cPanel account"
- Carefully read and follow the instructions given on that page
- Click the "Add Domain" button at the bottom of the page to assign the domain. Once complete you should see the domain is listed in the domain manager tab.
When it comes to assigning domains to your account, there are 2 options available in the cpanel:
- A parked domain is a domain name that points to your main domain on your account (ex. if cars.com is your main Web site, you can purchase the cars.net and park it so that if a visitor were to type cars.net they would see the same Web site as if they had typed cars.com).
- An add-on domain allows you to have two separate domains on your account that share the space. You can have a cars.com and a candy.com as an add-on domain. The candy.com would be a completely separate Web site and visitors would not know that it is part of your cars.com account.
Note: The domain will not resolve unless you have also contacted the current registrar and updated the nameservers to: NS1.Gesatech.net and NS2.Gesatech.net. Alternatively, you may point an A Record to your Gesatech server IP address from your current DNS provider. Remember to allow 24-48 hours for DNS propagation.
