SSL Installation of 3rd Party Certificate

Before you may use a Private SSL Certificate with your Gesatech hosted domain, we require your account to have a dedicated IP address. The cost for a dedicated IP is USD $30 per year ($2.50 per month). This may be purchased from your Gesatech cPanel by clicking the Dedicated IP tab at the top of the screen.

Note: SSL Certificates can only be installed for your PRIMARY domain. If you would like to change the primary domain on your account, please Click Here for more information.

You are welcome to purchase a trusted SSL Certificate from a 3rd party issuer OR generate a self-signed certificate. Simply follow these instructions:

Steps to Generate a CSR:

  1. From within your cPanel, click on TLS/SSL Manager icon
  2. Click on "Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys"
  3. Under the Generate a New Key section, select your Primary domain from the drop-down list and select Key Size 2048 or 1024
  4. Press the Generate button
  5. Your private key will be displayed. Click "Return to SSL Manager"
  6. Back in the SSL Manager page, click "Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests."
  7. Choose the host from the drop down box and enter in the required information below. Press Generate button.
  8. If you have entered valid information, you will be shown your CSR. (if it looks blank, click back and correct any information)
  9. Provide the CSR to the SSL vendor of your choice. They will exchange it for a CRT file.
  10. With the new CRT, return to SSL Manager and click the "Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates"
  11. Paste in the provided CRT file or Browse your computer for the .crt file. Repeat for CA Bundle file, if received as well
  12. Press Upload button
  13. Contact us via Phone, Live Chat or by Opening a Ticket to request your KEY and CRT be installed on the server.

Note: The KEY as well as the CRT will be required when we install your certificate on the server (and a CA Bundle if provided by SSL vendor). It is recommended to keep a backup copy of each of these as they may be used for this particular domain name with any host.

Note: Since SSL Certificates are Domain/IP specific, you must Purchase a Dedicated IP before purchasing or having an SSL Certificate installed on your account. They will NOT work with a shared IP address.
