DNS MX Record Modification

The MX Record of a domain can be changed easily through the cPanel. Here is how to do it:

  1. Log into the cPanel at www.Gesatech.com
  2. Click on MX Entry icon in the Mail section
  3. Select the correct domain from the drop-down box
  4. Enter the priority and destination
  5. Click the Add New Record button

Note: Please remember this is a DNS domain zone change which will require propagation (taking 4-48 hours) to actually show up across the Internet for each change.

Gesatech suggests the creation of a sub-domain to forward the MX record to. This is the correct way of pointing mail.
cPanel now creates a subdomain for the cname if an IP Address is used. This will still allow the mail to be pointed correctly.
